Biopratiq was founded on the belief that the skin is a system and that the science needed to read it accurately must work equally for every human, regardless of skin tone, geography, or access to specialist care.

The Founder

From Nairobi to the Oxford Golden Triangle

Charles Okayo D'Harrington is a lab operations leader, a biomolecular scientist and systems architect dedicated to closing the structural gaps in global molecular medicine. Born in Nairobi, Kenya, and refined within the high-stakes rigour of UK GxP-regulated clinical manufacturing, his career is defined by a single principle: Scale is not just a logistics problem; it is a science problem.

Charles’s foundational perspective on system reliability was forged during the COVID-19 pandemic. He played a direct role in the batch release of 100 million AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine doses arguably one of the most consequential manufacturing operations in modern history. This experience shaped his understanding of the "molecular physics" of scaling: the reality that you cannot scale what you have not fundamentally understood at the cellular level.

Beyond vaccines, Charles has architected high-throughput molecular diagnostic platforms from the ground up, designing the operational protocols quality frameworks required to process clinical samples at volume within the tightly regulated research ecosystem of the Oxford Golden Triangle.

His expertise extends into the most complex arenas of molecular engineering. Charles played a pivotal role in Phase 3 trial of FCX-007, a breakthrough gene therapy targeting Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa. That programme, a landmark in dermatological medicine, sits at the direct intersection of skin pathology and molecular engineering: the domain that Biopratiq was later built to advance.

Biopratiq is the convergence of clinical rigour and computational architecture. Having observed the systemic limitations and global access inequalities inherent in traditional clinical scaling, Charles founded the company to solve the "Biological Blind Spot" - the reality that the world’s best diagnostic tools are often validated on data that fails to represent the global majority.

By combining "Founder-Sharp" data velocity with a commitment to mathematical equity, he is building a future where molecular precision is a universal standard, not a geographic privilege.
